MISSION STATEMENT

PURPOSE

This mission represents the commitment of this department to the concept of quality performance management by expecting all members of the Garnett Police Department to perform their duties, job responsibilities and work tasks associated with the mission, in a quality manner. These concepts require that performance results comply with the standards established for this agency, including the Oath of Office, Code of Ethics, departmental rules, regulations, policies, operational procedures, directives, general and supervisory orders, work performance and behavior. It is critical that each employee understands and accepts the responsibility for achieving the mission by publicly registering their commitment to it and the concepts of quality service.

MISSION STATEMENT

The mission for every member of the Garnett Police Department is to work as a team providing fair, impartial and equitable police service and enforcement of the laws to the community, deterred neither by position, fear, nor prejudice. Members of the Garnett Police Department wish to provide for a better and safer community in which to live; providing a feeling of security by community policing, maintaining the public trust and supporting our youth. Members of the Garnett Police Department should provide these services in a moral and ethical manner, believing it is imperative this be accomplished by first believing an example for others to follow in both our personal and professional lives.
