The City of Garnett requests that you refrain from blowing your grass clippings into the street when mowing and to keep leaves in the fall from lying in the curbs because it causes storm water drainage issues. Therefore, because the Trash Department cannot pick up grass clippings, leaves and brush, the City offers a special yard waste pick-up on the last Friday of each month for a reasonable charge. Please call City Hall to be placed on the list for this special pick-up.
Holiday Trash routes announced
Trash service is provided for all city residents on a weekly basis. In the event of a holiday when City Hall is closed, your trash will be picked up one day later. Trash is to be placed in the alley by 8:00 a.m. to insure pickup. IF you have no alley, please place your trash along the curb. The City does not provide special receptacles or bags. The City asks that you do not place your trash in a container bigger than 30 gallons. To find out what day of the week the refuse service is provided in your neighborhood, contact City Hall.
